Qualifications:
* BS/MS Chemistry, Chem E., or other scientific technical field
* 7+ years' experience formulating and testing waterborne coatings for consumer and industrial maintenance applications
* Broad and deep understanding of the consumer and industrial maintenance coatings market
* Proven track record of generation of new knowledge, products, or procedures
* Proven ability to use fundamental polymer properties to predict end-use performance
* Demonstrated use of Design of Experiments
* Proven ability to work effectively on cross-functional project teams
* Ability to travel 10%
* Ability to work safely in laboratories, manufacturing, and customer facilities
* Knowledge of aerosol technology
* Good communication and presentation skills
* Strong business mind, multi-task ability
* Successful track record measured by a high level of product commercialization rates
Duties:
* Lead and execute projects for consumer and industrial maintenance coatings
* Use sound data-based decision processes to draw conclusions from test results and provide input to the rest of the project team, on appropriate next steps on projects
* Use the appropriate balance of theoretical and practical knowledge to accelerate the development and commercialization of consumer and industrial maintenance coatings
* Develop new test methods as necessary to accelerate the development and commercialization of new products
* Demonstrate leadership in the industry by making presentations at trade shows
* Provide progress updates through the regular issuance of written and verbal reports
* Work seamlessly as a member of cross-functional project teams
* Provide training to marketing and field personnel, agents and customers
* Maintain records of experiments, results and conclusions in a lab notebook
